Laboratorium Pieśni (world / mystic folk / spiritual / medicine music) is a female vocal group founded in 2013.
The group sings and arranges traditional polyphonic songs from various cultures, including Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Belarusian, Serbian, Albanian, Bosnian, Georgian, and Polish traditions, as well as songs of Indigenous peoples such as the Lakota and Cherokee.
They perform Songs of the World both a cappella and with accompaniment from shamanic drums and other ethnic instruments (including shruti box, bells, shakers, flutes, kalimba, singing bowls, and gongs).
Their arrangements bring new life to traditional songs, weaving in spacious vocal improvisations inspired by the sounds of nature—often intuitive, wild, and deeply feminine.
The group has participated in projects led by renowned Polish musicians, including concerts and recordings of music composed by Łukasz L.U.C. Rostkowski for the animated feature film “The Peasants”—Poland’s official Oscar entry—which received a Fryderyk Award in 2024 and achieved Platinum Record status.
They also took part in the concert tour and recording sessions for the latest album by Miuosh x Zespół “Śląsk” – “Contemporary Songs. Volume II.”
